Types of Floor	All floor types can be supplied at 20mm thick in any width or as a 15 mm thick overlay floor up to 140mm wide. A micro bevelled edge is available as a no-cost option on all floors unless otherwise stated.
OAK FLOORS
	Rustic European Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £32.99 + VAT Varies in colour from light tan to biscuit. Grain pattern more irregular than American oak with medullary rays/figuring visible on quarter sawn boards. No limit to the number of knots but maximum knot size will be up to 100mm diameter with some splits and checks. View installation pictures Available in widths of 160, 185 & 200mm. Board lengths vary but generally 2-2.5m with some shorter boards.
View Installation	Character European Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £38.90 + VAT Varies in colour from light tan to biscuit. Grain pattern more irregular than American oak with medullary rays/figuring visible on quarter sawn boards. No limit to the number of knots but maximum knot size will be up to 75mm diameter with some splits and checks. View installation pictures >> Available in widths of 150mm, 185mm and 200mm. Board lengths vary but generally 2-2.5m with some shorter boards.
View Installation	Classic European Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £41.50 + VAT Varies in colour from light tan to biscuit. Grain pattern more irregular than American oak with medullary rays/figuring visible on quarter sawn boards. No limit to the number of knots but maximum knot size will not generally exceed 25mm diameter with high level of pippy knots and ‘cats paw’ patterns. View Installation	Tradition Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £49.00 + VAT A rustic grade of oak with large knots, splits and checks. View Installation	Old Structured Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £36.99 + VAT A rustic grade of oak with large knots, splits and checks. View Installation	Stasis Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £50.00 + VAT A product unique to British Hardwoods, Stasis is a heat-treated oak that is inert and unaffected by changes in relative humidity levels and heat. As such it is ideal for areas of under-floor heating, bathrooms, clubs and bars, pool areas etc. Due to the treatment the colour of Stasis is rich and dark. View Installation	Antique Wave Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £40.50 + VAT As Character European Oak but with a waved surface across the the width of the boards. Can also be fumed to darken the colour. View installation pictures >> Available in widths of between 180 and 200mm. Thickness of 20mm. Board lengths generally 2-2.5m with some shorter boards. Micro bevel as standard.
View Installation	Hand Planed Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £40.50 + VAT As Character European Oak but with a simulated hand planed surface across the width of the boards. View Installation	Brown Oak (Quercus robur) – Price per square metre £45.00 + VAT A grade of timber between European Character and Classic that has been naturally coloured during the growing life of the tree. This gives an infinitely random pattern of dark and light oak boards with stripy ‘tiger skin’ markings. 	Parquet Block – Price per square metre £50.00 + VAT Usually available in oak, this is the traditional ‘herringbone’ flooring. Square edge blocks of around 480mm x 70mm x 10mm. Edge borders with walnut inlays are also available. View installation pictures >>

View Installation	American Prime White Oak (Quercus alba) – Price per square metre £44.00+ VAT Varies in colour from pale yellow-brown to biscuit with a pinkish tint, similar to European oak but paler. View Installation	Prime American Ash (Fraxinus americana) ) – Price per square metre £39.00 + VAT Has creamy white to light brown heartwood with white sapwood. View Installation	Prime American Cherry (Prunus serotina) ) – Price per square metre £60.00 + VAT The heartwood varies from rich red to reddish-brown, with a contrasting light brown cream sapwood. It has a fine, close grain with narrow brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. It has a fine smooth texture. View Installation	Prime Canadian Maple (Acer saccharum) – Price per square metre £56.00 + VAT Creamy white with a reddish tinge in parts. Usually straight grained but occasionally curly or wavy. Fine brown lines give an attractive growth ring figure on plain sawn surfaces. Texture is fine and even. View Installation	Prime American Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) – Price per square metre £65.00 + VAT The heartwood is a rich dark brown to purplish-black. It has distinct grey sapwood. FLOOR TREATMENTS	Fuming of oak – Price per square metre £4.00 + VAT Any of our European oak floors can be fumed with ammonia. The ammonia reacts with the tannic acid in the oak and the timber changes from its usual light, honey yellow colour to a rich dark brown. We find this is far better than staining because the ammonia will affect different boards in slightly different ways depending on the amount of tannic acid present. Also medullary rays are left largely unfumed whereas knots darken significantly. This gives the floor a very natural aged look and, as such, it is particularly effective on waved, hand planed and distressed floors.
	Pre-finishing– Price per square metre £5.00 + VAT A factory pre-finish is available using two coats of hardwax oil.
	Sanding & Filling– Price per square metre £3.00 for Rustic, £2.50 for Character, £2.00 for Classic Oak + VAT All knot holes are filled with a clear resin filler mixed with fine wood dust (to match floor). Boards are then sanded to give smooth finish.
	Sanding– Price per square metre £1.75 + VAT Boards are sanded to give extra smooth finish.
	Wire brushing– Price per square metre £4.00 + VAT This picks out the grain of the timber.
	Distressing £4.00 + VAT
