Quick Overview

A stunning textured, dark wood floor displaying a well-spaced scattering of natural figuring, small open knots (up to 25mm in diameter) and pip. The knots can be filled and sanded to a smooth finish if preferred. The boards can be supplied with an optional hardwax oil finish or supplied unoiled - ready to take a finish of your own choice.

Please Note: Due to the high postage costs when sending premium sized samples, we do levy a small charge of £2.50 per sample. This charge is completely refundable should you ultimately decide to purchase one of our hardwood floors.

Description

Details

Our Fumed and Brushed Classic Oak Flooring is machined from sustainably sourced European oak timber. After machining, the boards are wire brushed, which raises the grain, producing a tactile, textured surface. After brushing, the boards are then fumed, a chemical process which darkens the wood, creating a pleasing mix of dark oak shades. Different boards and different batches of timber will react differently to the fuming process, and as such the wood will not have a uniform colour. Photographs on the website and samples are provided for guidance only - we can not guarantee an exact colour match. If you wish to obtain a uniform dark tone we recommend the use of a stain rather than fuming.

Our samples are an excellent way to demonstrate the quality of machining and finish that you can expect from us, however please be aware that wood is a natural product and as such is subject to subtle differences in tone, grain pattern and knot sizes.
