Oiled Solid Wood Flooring

It is fair to say that oiled solid wood flooring has become the preferred choice for our customers when selecting their hardwood floor. Choosing a pre-oiled finish means that once you receive your new wood floor there is nothing further to do to finish or seal the wood once the floor is laid. This offers real convenience when fitting wood flooring to critical areas and main living spaces.

An oiled finish can be specified to all of our solid wood flooring at the time of ordering. We apply two coats of Osmo hardwax oil to the newly machined floorboards which provides a hardwearing surface with a natural satin lustre. The finish is water and dust resistant and accentuates and enhances the natural grain of the wood.

Over time your oiled solid wood flooring will need re-coating. Wood floors subject to heavy wear, such as hallways and kitchens, will need to be re-oiled sooner than floors subject to less footfall, such as bedrooms. Unlike a lacquered floor, an oiled wood floor can be re-coated easily and does not need sanding prior to re-finishing. Oiled wood flooring can also be spot repaired and easily maintained by regular sweeping and damp mopping.
