Regular followers of our blog may remember that back in May we purchased a Mamuth Frame Saw, for cutting high-precision lamellas for our engineered wood flooring. This Czech-made frame saw is significantly more accurate than a band saw for the thin cutting of wood as it uses short saw blades. We are lucky to have the only one of its kind in the UK at the moment.
Here is the Mamuth on its grand arrival at our factory earlier in the year.
The frame saw was in need of some remedial work to get it back in full working order. As the saw is manufactured in the Czech Republic by Neva, one of their engineers was duly despatched to enjoy some Yorkshire hospitality.
Josef (in the middle) with Tony and Jason spent two days getting the saw up and running before he returned home. We hope this new addition will increase the throughput of our lamellas so that we are able to increase our range of engineered flooring. We have also had many enquiries for thin wood boards which we hope to add to our online shop some time soon, watch this space . . .
