Have you always wanted to get into woodworking but don't know where to start? We can highly recommend a superb new publication by a very good customer of ours, Chris Tribe. His beautiful hardback book provides expert advice and detailed step-by-step instructions covering a wide range of essential woodworking techniques.
The book includes a selection of five projects, organized by skill level, and chosen to allow you to put your skills into practice. Each project has detailed plans, complemented by high quality, detailed photographic sequences, enabling you to make the following items:
- a useful cabinet for tool storage
- a practical breadboard with an integrated knife housing
- a contemporary shelving unit
- a fine side table
- a beautiful veneered memory box
The book is available from major bookshops and online retailers. Independent, local bookshops will also be happy to order it in for you, if they don't carry it in stock. Chris has produced some companion resources for the book which are available on his website. These resources include downloadable drawings and cutting lists for the projects covered in the book, additional topics, and a discussion area. To access these resources click here >>
Chris has been designing and making contemporary furniture for over 30 years, and his work has been exhibited at galleries and exhibitions nationwide. He has also taught furniture making and woodwork at a number of colleges in Yorkshire, and now runs very popular woodworking courses at his workshop in Ilkley.
