Last weekend a member of the British Hardwoods team found herself in very deep water. Financial controller Joanne Conroy along with her daughter Leanne were taking part in the Great North Swim, raising money for local charities.
Joanne (on the right) and Leanne completed a one-mile swim in the beautiful (but choppy!) Lake Windermere in the Lake District. Here they are looking exhausted but happy with their achievement, proudly displaying a pair of fetching blue swim hats.
This is the latest event in many years of fundraising activities undertaken by the Conroy-Jennings family which have included The Leeds 10K Run, several half-marathons, cycling the whole Leeds-Liverpool canal route, and even Dragon Boat Racing at Roundhay Park (Joanne was chief drummer!).
Joanne and Leanne are raising money for Martin House Children's Hospice and Bradford Cancer Support, two local charities which are close to their hearts. To learn more about their very personal reasons for choosing these two charities and to view their fundraising page click here >>
