Fumed Engineered Character Oak Flooring 16mm - Sample
A stunning fumed engineered oak floor machined from sustainably sourced character grade European oak. The timber has a rich dark tone with a distinctive grain pattern and contains a pleasing amount of natural figuring and filled knots up to 50mm in diameter.
Our samples can be finished with a clear satin hardwax oil or supplied unoiled if preferred. If you order unoiled samples, please be aware that the filler will darken significantly when finished. We use a durable resin filler in a 'black oak' shade which has a light grey appearance until sealed with an appropriate flooring finish.
Due to the high postage cost of sending premium samples, we levy a small charge which is fully refundable should you go on to purchase one of our hardwood floors.
Our 180mm x 16mm Fumed Engineered Character Grade Oak Flooring comprises a 4mm top layer of solid French oak bonded, using a high quality D4 adhesive, onto a base of 12mm multi-layer plywood. Fuming is a chemical process which darkens the raw timber. Each board will react differently to the fuming process, producing a natural range of dark, medium and lighter shades; we recommend loose laying boards before fixing to achieve an even spread of colour tones. Likewise, separate batches of timber will also react differently to the fuming process, photographs on the website and samples are provided for guidance only - we can not guarantee an exact colour match.
Our samples are an excellent way to demonstrate the quality of machining and finish that you can expect from us, however please be aware that wood is a natural product and as such is subject to differences in tone, grain pattern and knot sizes.
