Antique Wave Solid European Oak Flooring
A distinctive undulating and lightly brushed oak floor machined from carefully selected classic grade boards. The timber displays a pleasing mix of small open knots (up to 25mm in diameter) and scatterings of pip. The floor can be supplied with an optional hardwax oil finish or supplied unoiled - ready to take a finish of your own choice.
The boards are a standard 185mm wide and are tongue and grooved on all four edges. Board lengths are typically between 1.8m and 2.8m but some may be supplied shorter or longer than that, depending on timber availability at the time of machining.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to this floor's undulating surface the filling of the knots is not an option and in knottier areas the boards may feel coarse to the touch.
Our Antique Wave Oak Flooring is machined from solid classic grade European oak timber. The undulations across each board produce a distinctive and appealing wavy effect. After machining the boards are lightly brushed, producing a tactile textured surface. When finished with oil, the natural colour of the timber is a golden biscuit tone which gives a lovely light and airy feel to any room.
All the raw timber we use is sourced from either PEFC or FSC certfied suppliers. The timber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8-10% and kept at an ambient temperature in our heated and humidity controlled factory. All our wood floors are manufactured to order, from the same batch of timber. We pre-plane the boards before final machining which results in accurately machined floorboards which are extremely straight, flat and a pleasure to fit. Mass produced imported floors are not made, or quality controlled, to the same high standards as a British Hardwoods wood floor.
