Quick Overview

If you are looking for that untreated wood look - Polyx Oil Raw could have the answer. Perfect for light coloured wood species, it has a very light white pigmentation which retains the natural look of the wood. Hardwearing, water and dirt-resistant, it is suitable for wood flooring, doors, furniture and all interior joinery projects.

Osmo Polyx Oil Effect 3044 Raw 2.5L is a transparent-tinted, matt wood finish, which combines all the advantages of oils and waxes in one unique product. Osmo Polyx® Oil Effect 3044 Raw is resistant to water and dirt, very durable and smoothens wood surfaces. The original look of the wood can be kept – no emphasing of the natural colour of the wood (no wet-look-effect). In comparison to conventional finishes, the natural vegetable oils and waxes allow for a harmonic, smooth surface result. Apply thinly and evenly along the grain, no need for a primer or sanding between coats – saves time and money.

It meets the wood's natural demands: It is microporous and does not crack, flake, peel or blister. Resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water in accordance with DIN 68861-1A (German industrial norm). When dry, the finish is safe for humans, animals and plants and is suitable for children’s toys as per EN71.3 (European norm) and fast to perspiration and saliva in accordance with DIN 53160 (German industrial norm).

For interior use only.

Osmo polyx raw
Even if applied very thinly it is difficult to avoid white streaks with Osmo polyx raw. After days of preparation the final result was very disappointing.

Raw oil
No warning on tin that this oil should be applied differently from any other oil but it should otherwise you end up with a milk white residue! Be warned it is not transparent as it describes itself on tin.

(Our reply: All Osmo polyx oils are microporous, i.e. they should be applied thinly and evenly along the wood grain so that the oil is able to seep into the timber. If applied too thickly the product will form a thick layer on top of the wood's surface, prohibiting the microporosity of the oil. We always advise fully reading the instructions on the tin prior to application. With any pigmented product a trial application is recommended before finishing to ensure that the result is satisfactory. We hope that you have managed to rectify the finish, however, please contact us if you require any further advice.)
