Brushed Classic Grade Solid Oak Flooring
Our Brushed Classic Grade Oak Flooring is machined from sustainably-sourced solid European oak timber. After machining, the boards are wire brushed, which raises the grain, producing a tactile, textured surface. The wood has a light biscuit tone and displays a pleasing mix of small open knots (up to 25mm in diameter) and scatterings of pip. The knots can be filled and sanded to a smooth finish if preferred.
Our wide board floors are supplied in single width wide boards (i.e. each board will be the same width). The width supplied can vary, depending on timber availability at the time of machining, but is typically between 175mm and 200mm. The length of the boards are usually between 1.8m and 2.8m, but some may be supplied longer or shorter than that, depending on raw timber stocks at the time of machining.
Our Brushed Classic Grade European Oak is a stunning oak floor displaying a well-spaced scattering of natural figuring, small open knots and pip which can be up to 25mm in diameter.
All the raw timber we use is sourced from either PEFC or FSC certfied suppliers. The timber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8-10% and kept at an ambient temperature in our heated and humidity controlled factory. All our wood floors are manufactured to order, from the same batch of timber. We pre-plane the boards before final machining which results in accurately machined floorboards which are extremely straight, flat and a pleasure to fit. Mass produced imported floors are not made, or quality controlled, to the same high standards as a British Hardwoods wood floor.
