Details
Our Fumed Provincial Grade European Oak flooring has rich rustic charm and character. The boards have a dark tone and contain a fair amount of natural figuring and an abundance of splits, checks and large knots up to 75mm in diameter, which are filled and sanded smooth as standard. If you wish to have the knots left open, please contact our Sales Office who will be happy to discuss this with you. Due to its rich rustic appearance it is a popular choice for country cottages, barn conversions and commercial applications such as pubs, restaurants, churches and museums.
* IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT FUMING: Fuming is a chemical process which darkens the oak in a natural way - as an alternative to staining. Different boards and different batches of timber will react differently to the fuming process, and as such the wood will not have a uniform colour. Photographs on the website and samples are provided for guidance only - we can not guarantee an exact colour match. If you wish to obtain a uniform dark tone we recommend the use of a stain rather than fuming.
All the raw timber we use is sourced from either PEFC or FSC certfied suppliers. The timber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8-10% and kept at an ambient temperature in our heated and humidity controlled factory. All our wood floors are manufactured to order, from the same batch of timber. We pre-plane the boards before final machining which results in accurately machined floorboards which are extremely straight, flat and a pleasure to fit. Mass produced imported floors are not made, or quality controlled, to the same high standards as a British Hardwoods wood floor.

Very happy with the quality of the floor. Customer service experience however was poor with delivery not as agreed causing problems with builder and representative on phone very rude and unhelpful. Delivery man very helpful and pleasant.

Do not hesitate in buying this floor, it is beautiful. Everyone admires it. My fitter said this is a floor for life. It arrived well packaged and the delivery driver deserves a mention for helping us in with it. Great guy. I already have another order in with British Hardwoods.

I would use this flooring time and time again, made with precision and fitted together like a dream considering it is a natural product. Had to use flooring straps in the odd place as you would expect when fitting. This was my first time using British Hardwoods and their communication throughout was professional and detailed and all delivered on time.
