A solid dark oak architrave with square edge profile, 70mm deep and 19mm thick. Fuming is a process which darkens the raw timber, creating a random mix of dark oak shades (see important note below). Our architraves can be supplied unoiled or finished with hardwax oil, which provides a hardwearing finish with a natural satin lustre.
If you are using our architrave around a door, we recommend our architrave sets to ensure that you receive timber in appropriate lengths.
A fumed square edge architrave machined from solid prime grade European Oak. The timber has a rich smoked tone and displays natural figuring and grain pattern with some small knots.
Important note: Fuming is a chemical process which darkens the timber in a natural way. Different boards and different batches of wood will react differently to the fuming process, and as such the timber will not have a uniform colour. Photographs on the website and samples are for guidance only - we can not guarantee an exact colour match. If you wish to obtain a uniform dark tone we recommend the use of a stain rather than fuming.
Our timber boards are kiln-dried to an average moisture content of 8-10% and stored here in our temperature-controlled factory. Our skirting boards and architrave sets are machined by our skilled craftsmen using British and German machinery, ensuring your boards are precision perfect and easy to fit.

We use numerous ways to deliver our hardwood products all around the UK mainland. This includes delivery by our own vehicle (within a limited delivery scope), and also the use of independent couriers. The courier price is the direct charge from the couriers we use and is a weight-driven tariff based on the delivery location.

Courier delivery timescales
The time taken for delivery by courier can vary depending on location. When your order is complete, we will email you to inform you of despatch. The courier will then contact you when they have collected your order from us, to inform you of the expected delivery day.
Storage information
Our skirting boards and architraves are manufactured from solid kiln-dried timbers and should not be stored in a cold, damp environment (e.g. garage, shed or outbuilding). On arrival at your property, the packs should be taken straight indoors into a dry, heated building. All concrete, plaster and wet work should be fully dried out prior to storage and/or installation.
