Herringbone Engineered Fumed Oak Flooring - Sample
Our Herringbone Engineered Fumed Oak Flooring is a stunning floor which has been fumed to darken and enrich the base colour of the oak. The boards are 600mm x 120mm x 16mm and comprise a 4mm real oak layer, bonded to a 12mm multi-layer plywood. The timber is a Character Grade French Oak and displays a pleasing amount of filled knots and a stunning grain pattern.
Our samples can be finished with a Osmo Clear Satin Polyx Oil, or can be supplied unoiled if preferred. If you order unoiled samples, please be aware that the filler will darken significantly when you finish it. We use a durable resin filler in a 'black oak' shade which has a light grey appearance until sealed with an appropriate flooring finish.
Due to the high postage cost of sending premium samples, we levy a small charge which is fully refundable should you go on to purchase one of our hardwood floors.

Our Herringbone Engineered Oak floorboards are accurately machined with a 4mm solid oak top layer, bonded onto a stable multi-layer plywood base, making the floor perfect for use with underfloor heating and areas of fluctuating humidity. The boards have tongue and groove joints on all four sides and an attractive micro-bevel on each top edge.
Note: Fuming is a chemical process which darkens the base colour of the raw oak. Each board will react differently to the fuming process, producing a natural range of dark, medium and lighter shades. We recommend loose laying boards before fixing to achieve an even spread of tones. Different batches of timber will also react differently to the fuming process, and as such, photographs on our website and samples are provided for guidance only.
