Thin Prime Grade European Beech Timber
- Sustainably sourced
- Prime European Beech
- Kiln-dried to 9-11%
- Sanded on one face
- Generous volume discounts
- Machined here in the UK
Please note: The timber is sawn and then sanded on one face only and is not machine planed. If you require fully planed, square edged timber please see our range of Planed All Round European Beech. It is normal for thin wood to display a slight curvature across the width due to the natural movement of the timber.
Our Thin Sanded Beech is sustainably sourced from Europe and manufactured to order at our factory here in Yorkshire. The timber can vary from whitish to very pale brown and may darken to a pale pinkish brown. The grain is straight with a fine, even texture and a characteristic fleck. The boards are sawn and then sanded on one face and supplied in random lengths.
Our Thin Sanded Beech is suitable for woodworking, furniture making, model making and crafts such as laser cutting, intarsia and luthiery.

Storage information
Our timber is kiln-dried and should not be stored in a cold, damp environment (e.g. garage, shed or outbuilding) where it could take on moisture. On arrival at your property, the packs should be taken straight indoors into a dry, heated building. All concrete, plaster and wet work should be fully dried out prior to storage and/or installation.
Properties
It has medium stiffness and high crushing strength. Pre-boring is necessary when nailing. It glues easily, stains and dyes well and takes an excellent finish. It is very good for turning.
Typical Uses
Solid and laminated furniture such as desks, benches and chairs (including bentwood furniture), quality joinery, kitchenware, tools, tool handles and workbenches, musical instruments, toys, bobbins, decorative veneers and plywood.
