Brushed Engineered Character Oak Flooring 15mm
A stunning brushed engineered oak floor machined from FSC certified character grade European oak. After machining, the boards are wire brushed, which raises the grain, producing a tactile, textured surface. The timber contains a pleasing amount of natural figuring and filled knots up to 50mm in diameter. The boards can be supplied with an optional hardwax oil finish or supplied unoiled - ready to take a finish of your own choice.
Board width: 185mm | Thickness: 15mm | Average board length: 2.4m
We are proud to be one of the very few companies who manufacture engineered hardwood flooring in the UK. Our 15mm Brushed Engineered Character Grade Oak flooring comprises a 3mm top layer of French oak bonded, using a high quality D4 adhesive, onto a base of 12mm moisture resistant medium-density fibreboard. This results in a hardwood floor that is far more tolerant to changes in temperature and relative humidity and displays little or no movement due to the cross bonding of layers. Our Engineered Oak retains the natural look and feel of solid oak flooring with the added benefit of strength and stability throughout. Due to its robust structural properties, our Engineered Oak flooring is ideal for installation in conjunction with under-floor heating systems.
All our wood floors are manufactured to order in our temperature controlled factory in Yorkshire. The timber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8-10%, thus making it compatible for use within a warm, dry property. We pre-plane the boards before final machining which results in accurately machined floorboards which are extremely straight, flat and a pleasure to fit. Mass produced imported floors are not made, or quality controlled, to the same high standards as a British Hardwoods wood floor.
