Our Tradition Aged Solid Oak Floor lends rich, rustic charm to any period property. Newly machined oak boards are passed through our custom-made distressing machine which imparts random indentations to the surface and edges. The boards are then wire brushed which raises the grain of the timber and adds texture to the surface. Lastly, the boards are fumed, a chemical process which darkens the timber. Each board will react differently to the fuming process, producing a natural range of dark, medium and lighter shades; we recommend loose laying boards before fixing to achieve an even spread of tones.
Our samples are an excellent way to demonstrate the quality of machining and finish that you can expect from us, however please be aware that wood is a natural product and as such is subject to subtle differences in tone, grain pattern and knot sizes.
