We all enjoyed a superb day at our Timber Shop Sale last Saturday. We welcomed a record number of visitors and it was lovely to see so many first-time callers along with lots of familiar faces.
"The Blind Woodturner" Chris Fisher joined us giving woodturning demonstrations throughout the day. If you've not been lucky enough to see Chris at work, take a look at his YouTube channel, the work he creates, and his inspirational outlook, is a wonder to behold.
We were also joined by local Artist Lisa Shackleton who demonstrated her pyrography skills to a spellbound audience. Willing participants were able to take a turn under Lisa's supervision and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We were also joined by the West Riding Woodturners and Carleton Crafters who demonstrated their woodturning skills and happily chatted to fellow wood enthusiasts.
During an enjoyable and busy day, we were all kept well supplied with refreshments by a hardworking team of family members. Thanks to their hard work we raised more than £150 for Martin House Hospice on the day - a huge thank you to them and all who donated. Sam Conroy's lunchtime chilli went down a storm, raising funds for his upcoming Tanzania Outlook Expedition. Sam would like to pass on his thanks to all those who kindly donated.
From all at British Hardwoods, we would like to say a big thank you to all our demonstrators and exhibitors; the success of the day is in large part down to them. Thank you also to all the British Hardwoods Team - a hardworking and dedicated group of people. Lastly, a huge thank you to all those who attended the event, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
