We started manufacturing hardwood flooring more than thirty years ago. Since then, our factory finish of choice has been Osmo Clear Satin Polyx Oil 3032. Polyx Oil is a microporous product which seeps into the timber and then hardens to form a protective surface finish.

When Clear Satin Polyx Oil is applied to European Oak Flooring it feeds and enriches the grain of the wood, producing a beautiful, warm tone (see photo above). We still offer a factory finish of Clear Satin Polyx Oil on all our Solid and Engineered Wood Floors.

Over recent years, new design trends have emerged and floors with a much lighter, bare-wood effect have become extremely popular. In response to this trend, Osmo created a new product called Osmo Raw Effect Matt Polyx Oil 3044.

This innovative product has a faint white pigmentation, designed to counteract the 'goldening' effect of regular Clear Polyx Oil. We now offer this product as a factory finish for customer's preferring a lighter oak floor with an untreated matt appearance. Floors finished with Raw Effect Matt Polyx Oil are described on our website as Natural Raw Effect Oiled Oak Flooring.

The photos below show the difference between floorboards finished with Clear Satin Polyx Oil and Raw Effect Matt Polyx Oil.
